About
WaveMusicApp is a product, not a scrape.
This page is the long version of what the site is for. If you landed here from a policy review, start with playback, then ads, then the listener wallet.
What we built
Wave is a Next.js app we operate at wavemusicapp.com. Listeners follow artists, save playlists, comment on tracks, install the site as an app, and — if they sign in — collect a share of advertising. The interface, the player, the queue, the BDC wallet, charts from this server, and this editorial are original work.
We use public music charts (Apple Music / iTunes and the Spotify Web API) as a discovery index: names, artwork, and 30-second preview URLs the rights holders already publish. That index is not the product. The product is how Wave plays, organizes, and pays people who actually use the site.
How playback stays legal
Apple and Spotify do not license full tracks to a third-party site. We do not pretend they do. Guests hear those licensed 30-second clips and nothing else.
Signed-in listeners can hear the full song only when Wave finds an official YouTube video: the artist’s own channel, a VEVO channel, or the artist’s Topic channel, and only when the video title matches the same song. A nearby catalog title on the same channel is rejected. We never download YouTube audio, never wrap a random upload, and never stream a full Spotify or Apple file.
If that official match is missing, the player stays on the 30-second preview. That is intentional. A broken or unofficial clip is worse than a short clip.
Where ads run — and where they do not
Google does not allow ads on screens that only embed or copy someone else’s recording. We agree with that line. Display units appear on pages we write: Home (this editorial), the music news desk, How it works, About, Earnings, Install, and Plans. They do not appear on album pages, track permalinks, artist pages, or radio grids. Pressing Video opens a fullscreen theater: square ads sit in the side columns, never on the YouTube iframe.
The AdSense snippet in the document head is there so Google can verify wavemusicapp.com. Page-level Auto ads stay off. We place units ourselves on original pages only. HighRevenueFormat banners on those same pages are how the current listener share is funded until AdSense is approved.
The 50% listener share
When a signed-in member keeps a banner on screen on an original page, half of what the network actually pays is converted to BDC at $0.08 a token. Wave keeps the other half. The user half is a hard pool: wallets cannot credit more than that report. Guests never earn. If you go quiet for a week the wallet pauses until you play again. The worked example on Earnings uses a real network day, not a made-up CPM.
Community without cloning a catalog
Follows, likes, comments, reposts, and public playlists live on this server. Charts at /charts rank what Wave users save and play — not a scraped “top 100” screenshot. Channels let you file podcasts you choose. That is user-directed, not a dump of another site’s homepage.
